David Burke Named Admissions Director at APU

AZUSA, Calif. –

Azusa, Calif. resident David Burke was promoted to director of undergraduate admissions at Azusa Pacific University announced by Deana Porterfield, vice president for enrollment management, effective Aug. 18, 2003.

As the director of undergraduate admissions, Burke provides vision and leadership for the recruitment goals of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. His responsibilities also include overseeing the admissions budget and representing APU at various conferences and events.

“Dave brings to this position seven years of experience in admissions as well as involvement at the national level in training new admissions professionals,” said Porterfield, “He has demonstrated God-honoring excellence in recruitment, marketing, and admissions processes, all of which prepared him well for this critical role at APU.”

Burke most recently worked as associate director of undergraduate admissions at APU. Previously, he served in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as assistant director of recruitment and marketing, senior admissions counselor (1999-2000), and admissions counselor (1996-1999). He also assisted in the coordination of National Christian College fairs. Burke received a B.A. in Music Education from APU.

I hope to provide effective, Christ-like leadership and reorganize our recruitment efforts to address our growing needs in regards to diversity and transfer students, while maintaining the relational and service-oriented methods that have proven successful in the past.
