APU Nursing Students Receive $200,000 Total in Scholarships

AZUSA, Calif. –
Azusa Pacific University received $200,000 from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) to award $10,000 scholarships to 20 nursing students.
Created to alleviate the shortage of nurses and nurse faculty, these scholarships support accelerated nursing degree programs. Scholarship recipients include five students in the Second Careers and Nursing (S.C.A.N.) Program and five students in the Early Entry into Nursing and Advanced Practice (EENAP) Program.
The RWJF focuses on the pressing health care issues facing the U.S. As the nation’s largest philanthropy devoted exclusively to improving the health and health care of all Americans, the foundation works with a diverse group of organizations and individuals to identify solutions and achieve comprehensive, meaningful and timely change. For more than 35 years, the foundation has brought experience, commitment, and a rigorous, balanced approach to the problems that affect the health care of those it serves.
APU offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and four other undergraduate nursing options. In addition, APU offers a Master of Science in Nursing, an Accelerated RN to BSN, post-master certificates, Second Careers and Nursing (S.C.A.N.), and a Ph.D. in Nursing.
