Profile
David Hughes teaches Advanced Conducting and Voice, and serves as advisor for Azusa Pacific’s graduate Choral Conducting program. Hughes comes to APU with extensive teaching and church music experience.
In Central California, Hughes taught at Modesto Junior College and was chorus master for the Modesto Symphony Orchestra where he amassed a significant repertoire of major choral works for large chorus and orchestra. In Texas, he taught private conducting and served as assistant conductor with the Southwestern Seminary Chorus. David holds a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree from Biola University and master's and doctoral degrees in Choral Music from the University of Southern California (USC).
