Jennifer Showalter has been a professional clarinetist and studio teacher in Los Angeles for twenty years. She has been principal clarinet of many symphony, opera, ballet, musical theater, and chamber orchestras, and has also performed as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. She recently released her debut solo CD, European Adventure, and launched her website.
Showalter holds clarinet performance degrees from Northwestern University (M.M.) and Cal State Long Beach (B.M.). She has been teaching at the college level since 1993 and she has been on the faculty at APU for nine years. Prior to that, she was on the applied faculty of Cal State Long Beach, Long Beach City College, Biola University, and Pasadena City College.
