Artist Certificate in Voice: Opera Studies
The Artist Certificate in Voice: Opera Studies is a post-graduate, two-year program for the highly gifted singer who wishes to pursue focused studies in opera training while actively pursuing outside auditions and competitions to the advancement of his/her own career. The program offers stage experience in addition to weekly production rehearsals, coaching, classes, and workshops. Topics in classes may include opera history, performance practice, and movement. Workshops may cover the audition process, acting, stage combat, improvisation, and mime.
In addition, students have easy access to resident companies, such as the Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and others, which offer a distinguished pool of high caliber performances and world renowned guest artists, and provide audition and performance opportunities for students (a certain amount of outside professional work is encouraged for Artist Certificate students).
