The Love Potion is a romantic comedy. It is one of Donizetti’s most beloved and well-known operas, and includes the famous tenor aria “Una furtiva lagrima” (A Secret Tear). To listen to the aria, visit youtube.com.

We’re all wondering what could be in Doctor Dulcamara’s special love potion to cause all the village women to go wild for the simple, boy-next-door, Nemorino? Why is Nemorino’s feisty, true love, Adina, not chasing after him? Does he need to drink more of the potion in order to win her? How much? Or is Adina instead going to be won by the handsome sergeant, Belcore, and his slick military moves? Come find out! Sung in Italian with orchestra. English surtitles provided. (Running time: 1 hour, 40 minutes)
