Carmen Spalding began her nursing career as an ADN working in a psychiatric residential facility for children. Once she completed her bachelor’s degree, she received a commission in the Navy and served eight years active duty and an additional two years as a reservist. At that time, she switched roles to school nursing. She has since worked in various roles including inpatient and outpatient pediatrics, same day surgery, emergency nursing, and post-anesthesia care (PACU) nursing.
