Biography

Lydia Garcia-Usry is an instructor at the High Desert Regional Center for Azusa Pacific University since August 2014. She is a life long resident of Victor Valley. She is committed to public health needs and resources of the Victor Valley area that has grown from a small town community to a community of diverse populations. Some specific community needs include homelessness, childhood obesity, and other chronic diseases. Garcia-Usry believes population health is important for nursing students to understand how to keep their clients healthy in an environment that they live in. She believes keeping family health is important to sustain a healthy community.
