Laurie Lang has been a registered nurse for 34 years and has experience in many areas of nursing including critical care, cardiac rehabilitation, and school nursing. As a nurse manager, she worked at a large ambulatory care center in downtown Los Angeles and was responsible for all of the cardiopulmonary services. She holds a special place in her heart for patients with cardiovascular risk and heart failure, and is currently studying in APU’s PhD in Nursing program with a focus on understanding the needs of the underserved population in our area that have heart failure.

Lang began teaching at APU as an adjunct faculty member in 2006 and has served as a full-time assistant professor since 2010. Prior to APU, Lang taught in the RN-BSN program at California State University, Fullerton. Her teaching specialties are pathophysiology and leadership and management in nursing. As associate chair of the undergraduate program, her primary responsibilities are curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation.
