Program Distinctives and Benefits

Distinctives

  • Approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CBRN).
  • Graduates are eligible for the California RN License and Public Health Nursing Certificate.
  • MSN graduates are eligible for certification as Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and/or certification as a Nurse Practitioner in California.
  • MSN graduates with the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialization are qualified to sit for the FNP national certifying examination.
  • Clinical experiences include care of diverse cultural/ethnic groups, the poor, the underserved, and the homeless.

Benefits

  • Students receive personalized attention in a supportive Christian environment.
  • S.C.A.N. students may receive traineeships (partial tuition reimbursement) when available through a federal grant after passing the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
  • Financial aid is available through scholarships and loans.
  • Clinical faculty are experienced as clinical nurse specialists or nurse practitioners in a variety of settings.
