The Nursing Education Post-Master’s Certificate prepares nurses for teaching roles in various clinical and/or academic settings. Building on skills and knowledge obtained in a master’s of science in nursing (MSN program), this certificate signifies a nurse educator's readiness to train the next generation of nursing graduates.
The Nursing Education certificate covers foundational teaching and instruction theories. Coursework provides a framework for understanding role-development and leadership, curriculum development, the assessment of outcomes in health care, and the role of clinical practice in nurse education. Nurse educators learn to balance theory, research, and practice as they train new nurses to become empowered, effective members of the health care team.
