APU's Library Media Teacher (LMT) Credential Program prepares library media teachers as expert, specialized educational leaders in the areas of technology, literacy, and diversity.
Develop policies and procedure for the selection of resources and assessment of emerging instructional technologies
Implement instructional design models to the development of curriculum, instruction and learning and assess the effectiveness of curriculum design and development for the classroom.
Evaluate the collection in terms of curriculum needs
Collaborate with teachers in integrating instructional resources, including core literature, into the development of instruction and learning across the curriculum areas.
Integrate the use of information skills and a variety of types of literature into all curricular areas, developing a systematic mode of inquiry in locating and using information.
Work cooperatively with teachers in planning, developing and teaching, literature-based instruction in all curricular areas.
Use a variety of instructional methods with different user groups and demonstrate effective use and integration of media and technologies into the curriculum.
Motivate and guide students in the development of critical thinking skills for lifelong learning.
