Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Nursing (RN to BSN) Degree Completion Program, the student must have:
- Completed Department of Online Learning Application for Admission
- A $25 nonrefundable application fee
- A minimum of 60 units of transferable credit (earned with a C- grade or better)
from accredited colleges or universities, documented on official transcripts
from each institution attended (Transcripts must be mailed from the colleges
or universities directly to APU. A maximum of 70 units may be transferred from a community college.)
- A grade-point average of 2.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) in the transferred courses
- Minimum 23 years of age
- Be a registered professional nurse, licensed in California, with at least
one year of work experience as a registered nurse, and graduated from an
accredited associate degree or diploma nursing program. (If it has been more
than five years since working as an RN, the refresher course must be taken.)
- Copy of CPR certificate
- Copy of RN license
- Copy of immunization record
- A reference form identifying persons qualified to judge academic or professional expertise
- A writing sample that demonstrates written communication skills

When the above requirements have been met, the student will receive a letter of admission and statement of transfer credit.
This program is not recommended for students who lack proficiency in basic academic skills, especially collegiate-level English communication skills.
