Not only is APU accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), but the university is also one of only three private schools in California accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), which means credential preparation is recognized throughout the United States and internationally.

For the sixth consecutive year, Azusa Pacific University secured a place in this year's Top 25 of U.S.News & World Report's 2007 America's Best Colleges Western Universities-Master's classification, ranking 15th in a two-way tie. According to Diverse Issues in Higher Education magazine, APU ranked number 10 in the nation in awarding the most master's degrees to Hispanics. In addition, The Princeton Review included APU among the 123 colleges in the 2007 Best in the West category.
