APU’s campus is in a great location for students to walk to different spots around town. A shopping center across the street offers great spots to stop and eat between classes, a movie theater, frozen yogurt, grocery stores, and much more.

Students are allowed to register one vehicle with the Campus Safety Office through the online Permit Store. Fees and parking locations are based on class level and living area. If your student does not have a vehicle on campus, they may:

Public Transportation

Students who do not have a vehicle on campus may find it beneficial to obtain a student bus pass for the MTA/Foothill Transit system. Citrus College, adjacent to the APU campus, offers Foothill Transit passes in its bookstore. These passes are available at the student discount rate of $17 per month. A student ID is required. At this time they are able to accept only cash towards the purchase of a ticket.

You may apply for and receive an MTA/Foothill Transit combination pass from Union Station in Los Angeles. The rate for that ticket is $36 per month. Call 1-800-COMMUTE (266-6883) for more information and to speak with the issuing parties.

You can also visit www.mta.net, the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority website, which includes a "Metro Trip Planner" that allows one to choose starting and ending points and times to find out what bus/rail lines need to be used, where, and how much they cost.

Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension

As a new addition to the Azusa community, the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension is planning to have a stop right next to campus. Students will be able to travel to downtown L.A. or, eventually, Ontario Airport. This is a great means of public transportation and an excellent alternative to using a car.
