Psychological Assessment

An interdisciplinary team provides psychological and psychoeducational assessment services through the Pediatric Neurodevelopment Institute. The assessments range from brief to in-depth, depending on the needs of the client, the school, or referring agency. Each battery and report is carefully selected to answer the referral question as well as provide appropriate recommendations for the client to pursue. Each assessment report is reviewed by the interdisciplinary treatment team, including psychologists, school psychologists, social workers, special education providers, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and pediatric nurses, in order to provide comprehensive assessment, feedback, and services.

The Pediatric Neurodevelopment Assessment arm conducts the following evaluations:

  • ADHD evaluations
  • Cognitive abilities
  • Coping skills
  • Developmental disabilities
  • Learning disabilities
  • Personality evaluation
  • Pervasive developmental delays
  • School readiness
  • Social skills assessment

With each evaluation, the parent, guardian, or adult client is asked to complete an intake from prior to the initial interview. The interview is conducted to determine more specifically the client’s needs, and the information is referred to the interdisciplinary treatment team. A battery of tests is then administered to explore the client’s strengths and potential areas for development, and the treatment team develops specific recommendations based upon the assessment findings.

A written report provides recommendations to pursue individually or with a specialist. Finally, a feedback session completes the process. Assessment charges vary depending on the purpose of testing. Each client is informed of the estimated cost prior to any testing.
