Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I bring my parents?
Sure! They can attend the informative and exciting sessions we have organized to answer many “parent-type” questions.

Is someone going to help me pick my classes?
Yes! In a small group of students, you will meet with a faculty advisor who will help you select classes with the right balance of general education and major courses. (If you have not selected a major or are undecided, relax! You can start with some general education courses.)

What if I cannot attend an out-of-area or on-campus preregistration?
No problem! Contact your admissions counselor or the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (800) TALK-APU. We will mail you registration information and work with you on the rest!

Do I have to pay any money to get my classes?
To secure your classes, you need to make the $300 tuition deposit. Please don’t forget to mail that to APU as soon as possible. The deposit deadline is May 1, 2008.

How long does preregistration take?
If you are coming to campus, please plan on arriving by 8 a.m. and staying until mid-afternoon. We will be providing lunch.

All out-of-area receptions start at 1:30 or 2 p.m. and usually wrap up by 5 p.m. A buffet meal will be served.

Where are the out-of-area receptions held?
Some are held at local schools and churches while others are held at the private residences of APU alumni. If you signed up to attend an out-of-area reception, details will be mailed to your home address.

If you have any further questions, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (626) 812-3016, (800) TALK-APU, or admissionsevents@apu.edu.
