Description

The Azusa Pacific University School of Education is seeking applicants for a part-time advisor position for the doctoral studies in Education Program. The mission of the doctoral program is to prepare educational leaders for positions in P-12 site and district administration as well as teaching level positions in higher educational systems. Position subject to final funding.

Responsibilities

The advisor will have responsibility for: (a) recruiting, interviewing students prior to admission, and advising students; (b) teaching; (c) recommending and developing partnerships with local schools; (d) providing general service to the department.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in educational leadership or a field of study directly related to school leadership
  • A commitment to Christ
  • District and/or site level administrative experience
  • Experience with educational reform
  • Successful scholarship in educational leadership
  • Teaching higher education courses, preferably in one or more of the following areas: educational administration, leadership, qualitative and quantitative research, ethics, and teaching and learning
  • Understanding standards-based reform and research-based initiatives
  • Leadership development within racially and ethnically diverse communities

Experience

Experience with completion of dissertations preferred.

Workload

12-month, part-time faculty.
