Assistant/Associate Professor in Children’s Literature

Description
We invite applications for a position in children’s literature. Candidate will teach children's literature in traditional undergraduate and Accelerated Degree courses as well as composition and introductory literature courses within the department. Candidates familiar with the use of children’s literature in elementary school classrooms, to include reading/language arts programs and stages of language development, are preferred. A secondary teaching specialization in comparative literature, composition, or linguistics is also desirable. Successful candidate must have a religious commitment compatible with the mission of this evangelical Christian university. Position subject to final funding.

Rank and salary are dependent on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
Earned doctorate required with commitment to teaching excellence in liberal arts and professional program of traditional and adult learners.
Experience
Experience in higher education preferred teaching children’s literature courses as well as general education courses and specialist courses in comparative literature, composition, or linguistics.
Workload
Eight-course yearly load, including composition and literature courses, with the possibility of one course release for scholarship through competitive faculty research awards.
