Jan Haley, PhD, has more than 35 years of experience as a nurse clinician and more than 15 years as a nurse educator. Haley’s clinical practice includes early intervention programs and school-based health clinics in Pomona, California; Hawaii; and Nevada; youth outreach clinics for runaway teens and clinics for the homeless; and in-home visitation programs for children at risk for developmental delays or abuse, or who are medically fragile. She has also worked as a practitioner in college health and occupational health clinics. Haley has taught in undergraduate and graduate programs with a focus on the community, pediatrics, and advanced practice nursing. She conducts research with medically fragile children and those at risk for abuse and developmental delays, as well as the parent caregivers.
