Message from the Director
As the director of faculty research, I am glad to support and guide each one of you in your research and writing projects, from the initial formation of your ideas to the final celebration of your accomplishments.
The Office of Sponsored Research and Grants, under the direction of Luman Wing, Ph.D., assists you in locating internal and external funding opportunities that match your research interest, writing proposals, and managing awarded funds.
We look forward to announcing awarded grants, current writing projects, and final publications in our monthly newsletter, the APU Research Reporter. We will also develop this webpage, featuring new academic writings and archiving old ones, as a public presentation of APU’s extraordinary approach to learning.
In addition to our annual Faculty Writers’ Retreat, I shall be hosting monthly colloquia where researchers will present their work in discussion format. This will provide the kind of constructive and illuminating dialogue that springs from our understanding of Scripture and Christian theology, and how our conclusions pertain to issues in the real world.
Each publication and research project represents not only a growth in knowledge but a deepening of Godly wisdom that we pass on to our students and colleagues. Indeed, if all truth belongs to God, then all pursuits of truth lead us back to Him; in turn, all truths are affirmed by Him, exposing the distinct richness of intellectual life that appears when discipleship and scholarship coincide.
Sincerely,
Carole Lambert, Ph.D.
