Regional Centers Not Impacted by Fires October 14, 2008 Multiple fires burning throughout Southern California have not threatened APU's regional centers or the Azusa campus in any way. Currently, the Sesnon and Mareck fires in the Los Angeles and Ventura counties have burned nearly 10,000 and 4,800 acres respectively. Reports state that the Sesnon Fire is 5 percent contained, and the Mareck Fire 70 percent contained. The Juliet Fire burning near Camp Pendleton in northern San Diego is 25 percent contained. All sites remain open and classes are continuing as scheduled. For the safety and health of our community, we encourage you to stay indoors as much as possible, avoiding the poor air quality resulting from the fires. Athletes and students participating in outdoor activities should consult with their coaches or advisors regarding to changes to scheduled events. Please join us in prayer for our neighbors who may be affected by the fires, as well as the men and women fighting them.
