Wildfires 2008: Message from the President November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 3:45 p.m. In the midst of tremendous devastation wrecked by the November 2008 wildfires, which rage across thousands of acres displacing so many, come stories of heroism by emergency personnel and loving neighbors alike. These accounts add to the collective history of Southern California, one marked by resilience, cooperation, and commitment to those in need. Today, the APU community lifts those affected by these catastrophic blazes, including members of our faculty, staff, and students. We offer our heartfelt prayers to those within our community directly impacted by the wildfires and encourage you to email apusupport@apu.edu with your needs. As a community, we want to support and assist those directly impacted by the fires. Please continue to monitor the university website for additional resources. Though in South Africa, know that I remain connected with my team who has moved swiftly to ensure the safety and security of our APU community. The team is working to attend to the needs of those impacted in our own community, as well as reach out to our colleagues at Westmont College as they move toward recovery from the Tea Fire. We know that even in the most trying of times, God faithfully attends to our most pressing needs. I encourage you to be in prayer, seeking His peace and wisdom as we support each other.
