Azusa Campus Not Threatened by Local Wildfire

A large wildfire has broken out in the Angeles National Forest, and smoke is visible from APU's Azusa campus. The campus has not been threatened in any way. Campus officials are monitoring the fire closely, and we will post updates on this blog as needed.

The fire is burning on both sides of Highway 39 and has burned an estimated 60-75 acres. The fire started around 4:30 p.m. today. Los Angeles County firefighters and the Angeles National Fire Service have have ground and air crews responding.
