Williams Fire Continues to Burn, Azusa Campus Not Impacted

Though the Williams Fire continues to burn in the Angeles National Forest, north of campus, the university's Azusa campus has not been impacted in any way. The fire is currently 15 percent contained, however, according to authorities, full containment is not expected for a week. The university will continue to monitor the situation.

A brush fire burning in the Angeles National Forest near Glendora, named the Williams fire, has not threatened Azusa Pacific's main campus in Azusa in any way. Though smoke can be seen from campus, the fire is located east of campus, and continues to move further east, away from campus.
Currently, the fire has burned more than 3,600 acres and is 5 percent contained.
The university's Incident Command Team and Campus Safety will continue to monitor the situation with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
