Brush Fire in Azusa Canyon: APU Campus Not Threatened in Any Way

Correction: Reports are stating that the fire burned approximately 40 acres, and has been contained. (L.A. Times coverage)

Update as of Tuesday, August 27, 4:53 p.m.

The Glendora Police Department is reporting that the fire is close to being extinguished. The burned area was isolated to about 5 acres.


Update as of Tuesday, August 27, 3:40 p.m.

A four-acre fire is burning in Azusa Canyon, northwest of the Azusa Pacific campus. Emergency personnel are working quickly to respond.

The fire has not threatened APU's campus in any way, though smoke is visible from campus.
