This is a Test: Great Shakeout Drill
This morning, Azusa Pacific University is participating alongside Southern California residents in the Great Southern California Shakeout, part of Golden Guardian 2008. At 10 a.m., thousands of Southern Californians will simultaneously “drop, cover, and hold on” for the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history.
Regional Centers Not Impacted by Fires
Multiple fires burning throughout Southern California have not threatened APU's regional centers or the Azusa campus in any way. All sites remain open and classes are continuing as scheduled.
Duke Classrooms and Offices Reopened
The classrooms and offices affected by the air conditioning malfunction are now reopen.
Select Duke Classrooms and Offices Closed Temporarily
This morning, an air conditioning motor in Duke Academic Complex began smoking, causing classrooms and offices to evacuate. Campus Safety and Facilities Management responded quickly, and identified that there was no fire. Only a few classrooms and offices were affected by the smoke and odor.
Earthquake Update - Turner Campus Center Remains Closed
At this time, Turner Campus Center remains closed, inlcuding the cafeteria. Heritage Court is open.
Earthquake - Building and Location Updates
Azusa campus buildings have been cleared except for Turner Campus Center. APU's regional centers have been cleared.
