APU Azusa Campus Not Threatened by Fire

Monday, April 28, 2008, 8:44 a.m.

On Saturday, April 26, a fire broke out in the foothills above the cities of Sierra Madre and Arcadia. To date, the fire has burned nearly 500 acres and about 1,000 people have been evacuated. Currently, reports state that the fire is 23 percent contained.

This fire, known as the Santa Anita Fire, has not threatened APU's Azusa campus in any way, though smoke is visible from the campus. The campus remains open, and classes will continue as scheduled.

Please join us in prayer for our neighbors who may be affected by the fire, as well as the men and women fighting it.
