To date, the Station Fire has burned nearly 155,000 acres and is currently at 42 percent containment. Improved weather conditions help firefighters gain ground.

As of Thursday morning the U.S. Forest Service reported that the Station Fire has burned nearly 145,000 acres and is 38 percent contained. A smoke advisory remains in effect for the San Gabriel Valley.

Burning more than 121,700 acres, the Station Fire has become one of the two largest fires in Los Angeles County history. Air quality remains unhealthy in the San Gabriel Valley.  APU is monitoring air quality and will reschedule or relocate move-in and Orientation events if necessary.

The Morris Fire is now 100 percent contained, but the Station Fire has doubled in size overnight, and has burned an estimated 85,000 acres. The APU campus has not been threatened. The AQMD has issued a smoke advisory for the San Gabriel Valley due to unhealthy air quality.

The Morris Fire is at 95 percent containment, however the Station Fire, at only 5 percent containment, continues to burn and threaten homes. APU's campus has not been threatened by any of the fires.
