Visiting Schools
On behalf of the Azusa Pacific University sports medicine office, we would like to welcome you and your team to Azusa Pacific University. We hope that your visit is safe and injury-free. The Felix Event Center Sports Medicine Clinic on West Campus services volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis, softball, acrobatics and tumbling, water polo, and swimming. The Stadium Sports Medicine Clinic on East Campus services football, baseball, and track and field. Campus maps are available at www.apu.edu/maps/azusa/.
Game-day information for all sports except football (for football information, contact Curtis Zeilenga):
- The Sports Medicine Clinic will be open 2 hours prior to the beginning of your competition.
- If you require the use of a locker room, please send a request to the head coach of your sport.
- You must provide your own towels.
If you have any special requests, please send them to the ATC of your sport at least 48 hours prior to your event.
The APU sports medicine staff provides the following services:
- Cooler of water
- Ice chest with ice bags
- Six-pack of water bottles
- Portable treatment table
- Vacuum splints
- Spine board
- Crutches
- Biohazard materials
- Certified athletic trainers on site
- Phone and/or radio access to EMS
- All therapeutic modalities in the athletic training rooms will be available upon request. However, if an athletic training student is traveling with your team, a written request from you or your physician must accompany them in order to use the modality.
Extra services provided for football only include:
- A student helper with a cart will be available to transport your equipment between the locker room and stadium.
- Ambulance on site
- Cups
- Modalities near locker room (available upon request)
- Physician or a physician assistant
- Taping tables, coolers of water, and cups near locker room
You will need to plan to supply the following:
- Cups (other than for football)
- Towels for the sidelines, bench, and showering
- Your own taping and medical supplies
