Certificate in Strengths Approaches to Higher Education Leadership and Student Success
Description:
This general-purpose certification in strengths-oriented higher education is geared to non-degree seeking individuals who desire a deeper understanding of the effect that a strengths philosophy has on developing leaders and promoting student success. The certificate includes two different weekend sessions.
Session One: Strengths-Oriented Leadership (3 CEU credits)
This session covers:
- Building highly effective teams
- Strengths-oriented supervision
- Developing psychological capital
- Shaping a strengths culture
- Managing change from a strengths perspective
Session Two: College Impact on Student Success (3 CEU credits)
This session covers:
- Utilizing your personal strengths to become an exemplary educator
- Designing effective strengths-oriented learning environments
- Research on contributors to student success
- Teaching diverse learners and learning styles
- Case studies of policies, practices, and programs that impact student success
Format:
Two days: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

College Impact on Student Success - January 8-9, 2010 - Register
Dallas/Ft. Worth:
Strengths-Oriented Leadership - May 26-27, 2010 - Register
College Impact on Student Success - May 28-29, 2010 - Register
Individuals may choose locations and sequence of classes to accommodate their schedules.
Cost: $500 per session
CEU Credits Awarded: 3 credits for each session (CEU credits can not be transferred for university credit)
