Message from the Dean of Students
Dear Students,
This year continues the exciting tradition of growing together in Christian community. We are asking God to continue to teach us through a year-long, campus-wide study of Matthew 5:1-16.
In this upcoming year, I would like to call specific attention to the Beatitudes (verses 1-12). The Lord reminds us in these scriptures about his expectations for every one of his followers. “He made it clear that God’s Kingdom values are radically different from those of the world. God wants his followers to demonstrate humility, sorrow over sin, gentleness, a hunger for purity, a desire to relieve suffering, a devotion to peace and a willingness to endure persecution for doing what is right. A leader who wants to follow Jesus will live out each of the values.” (The Leadership Bible)
May these verses remind us how we can continue to create and build our community individually and together, fulfilling our design to bring glory to God. I encourage you to reflect on this passage, discuss it with your friends, and watch keenly as God continues to stir in our community.
It is my desire that throughout the year, God will continue to lead us closer to the Cross as a community of disciples and scholars bringing the love of Jesus to all.
Have a great year!
