Overall, this year's Asia program was very enjoyable and let's let the following statistics illustrate the program:
330 meter vertical descent down the Macau Tower
200 mph bullet train
93 academic units earned
$71 each for our most expensive meal at the Marco Polo in Hong Kong
17 company visits (Boeing, GM, Coke, Wahaha, Symbio, Blue Frog, Sherpa's, Mitsubishi, Heavenly Treasures, ITI Holdings, etc.)
14 forms of transportation (plane, bus, car, boat, subway, overnight train, Shinkansen bullet train, pedicab, horse, helicopter, hydrofoil ferry, ship, tram, and stupid stupid car)
13 hour flight from LAX to Hong Kong
13 hour overnight sleeper train ride from Shanghai to Beijing
12 students (6 female, 2 Japanese, 1 Cuban)
12 visas for China (Japanese don't need a visa)
11 different beds
8 days of classes in the US
6 American professors
6 courses offered
5 countries visited (counting Hong Kong and Macau, but technically they are part of PRC now)
5 days of classes in China
3 Chinese professors
3 ice cream late fees paid (many unpaid)
$3 each for our Peking Duck feast across the street from the Forbidden City
2 sets of books (at least) kept by any company doing business in China
2 students who got a helicopter ride
2 lost passports
2 fungal infections requiring medication
$1 each (or less) for student meals at Zhejiang University
1 scorpion eaten (intentionally)
