UBBL 350 / GBBL 551 GEOGRAPHICAL & HISTORICAL SETTINGS OF THE BIBLE (3/4 UNITS)
UBBL 498 / GBBL 570 DIRECTED RESEARCH (3 UNITS)
The Israel Summer program is an amazing opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually! The program is open to those interested in the 3 week study tour, the 2 week dig, or the full 5 week combined program. Based at Jerusalem University College on Mt. Zion, the tour and dig are open to everyone: undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, students from other universities, and other interested individuals. Courses will be UBBL 350/GBBL 551 Geographical and Historical Setting of the Bible (UG – 3 units/Grad – 4 units) and UBBL 498/GBBL 570 Directed Research: Archaeological Excavations at Tel Rehov (3 units). Academic credit is optional. These comprehensive courses of study emphasize the geography, history, and archaeology of Israel in biblical times, as well as introduce the post-biblical history of the land, the Holocaust, and the complex social and political issues facing the modern state of Israel. Prerequisites: Completion of 100- and 200-level general studies requirements or instructor's approval.
