Each semester APU sends around 20-25 juniors and seniors to study at Oxford University in England, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious universities! Students who are chosen to participate in the program will spend a semester walking the same streets that C.S. Lewis, John Wesley, J.R.R Tolkien, and many world leaders, past and present have walked. They will participate in extracurricular activities, intramural sports teams, and countless other clubs and societies. They will explore questions of faith, living and learning in a rigorous academic culture that embodies a diverse international student body.  Perhaps you should join them.

Maybe you have already heard of the Azusa Oxford Semester.  If so, you have probably also heard that it is one of APU’s most competitive study abroad programs. After receiving record numbers of applications for students hoping to attend Oxford in the fall of 2009, we have updated the application process to give an advantage to students who turn in their applications early! If you are interested in attending the Azusa Oxford Semester during the Spring of 2010, you may submit an application anytime between now and July 17th (the early application deadline) to find out early if you have been accepted to the program! If you submit an application on or before July 17, 2009, you will know your acceptance status before the 2009/2010 school year begins. If you submit an application after July 17th, it will be reviewed with all other applications after the final deadline of September 15th, 2009.

To submit an application early, simply download and print the application materials from the study abroad Oxford semester website listed below:

You must be a junior or senior to apply (which means you must have at least 60 units completed ), and you must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.4 to be eligible for the program.  The application also calls for two references, the worksheets for which are available online at the link listed above. This time of year is a great time to obtain references from faculty that you have worked with recently, as they are probably less busy now than they will be at the beginning of next fall when the school year is gearing up!
