Who can participate in Teacher Career Forum?

This event is reserved for individuals who have received or will be receiving their teaching credential from APU by July 2013 or who are eligible for a teacher intern position as determined by a Credential Analyst in the Department of Teacher Education at APU.

All eligible students will receive an invitation letter in the mail in March to participate in Teacher Career Forum.

Where can I get assistance with my résumé?

Career Services provides several options to help you present the best quality résumé to recruiters. Please visit our Instructional Videos and Tools section. We also offer 30 minute résumé critique appointments with a counselor in the Office of Career Services. You are welcome to have your résumé reviewed by email. Simply email your résumé to and a staff member will review it and return it by email. Depending on the potential volume of requests, the response time may take up to three days.

Does Career Services offer help with preparing for interviews?

Career Services provides Instructional Videos and Tools for education résumés and interviewing. In addition, one hour mock interviews can be scheduled with a career counselor to help students practice interviewing skills. Please contact the Office of Career Services for more information.

What do I need to bring to Teacher Career Forum?

Please bring a résumé and a copy of your credential (or Intern Eligible Status Letter from your Credential Analyst). If you have not received your credential on paper, bring a copy of the email document from CCTC showing that a credential has been granted. Also remember to dress professionally for this event.

Can alumni and non-APU students participate in Teacher Career Forum?

The forum is reserved for APU students and alumni only.

Where else can I find teaching positions?

Teacher Career Forum is a great way to connect with employers, but it is not the only option for finding a teaching position. Besides browsing current job openings on the APU Career Network, we encourage you to visit Edjoin, where you can view K–12 job openings in California and post your résumé for employers. You can also find out about recruitment fairs throughout the state that you can attend. For those of you who are interested in teaching in a private, Christian school, visit the Christian School Employment website.
