APU’s philosophy major helps students practice what it means to love God and neighbor through a discipleship of the mind. Students discover the ways in which contemporary conceptions of God, oneself, and the world have been formed by some of the greatest minds in history, and become complete individuals who reason and think reflectively about responses to the world, liberated from inadequate concepts and actions.

The program also helps students recover and reflect on the mainstream and marginalized voices that have spoken on life’s most important questions with precision and clarity. Philosophy majors leave APU equipped for decision making and ready to lead.
