Mission Statement

The Department of Biblical Studies at Azusa Pacific University aims to equip undergraduate students by offering degree programs in biblical studies, supporting the General Education program with courses in biblical studies, and preparing undergraduate men and women for ministry and/or graduate programs. Emphasis is placed upon training students in leadership perspectives, intelligent interpretation of the Christian Scriptures, and integrating their understanding of the Bible with their responses to God, self, and neighbor, as well as with just responses to human need.
