Are you interested in theological education founded on Wesleyan principles and practice? Do you value personal mentoring and support? Would you like to join a community of Free Methodist students and faculty for theological discussions, opportunities to serve, and lifelong friendships? Then there’s a place for you.
The Free Methodist Center at the Graduate School of Theology was established by the Southern California Conference of the Free Methodist Church in partnership with Azusa Pacific University to strengthen and equip those called to serve God, the Church, and the world in the emerging generation. The center works with university, conference, and church leadership to help you become an effective servant-leader through education, one-on-one mentoring, and scholarship support.
In addition to training, equipping, and mentoring students for godly, competent ministry, the center acts as a link between APU and local churches. This includes bringing the resources of the university to the Free Methodist constituency and placing graduates where they are best suited to minister. In keeping with the Wesleyan tradition, the Free Methodist Center emphasizes the significance of Scripture, reason, tradition, and experience as the bases for growing in stature with God and humans, and becoming thoroughly Christian.
