Brian McLaren, 2004 Pastors’ Luncheon
Brian McLaren has built a reputation as a pastor, author, speaker, and networker among the Christian community. He has been featured on shows such as Larry King Live, Religion and Ethics Newsweekly, and Nightline, and was listed in TIME magazine as one of America’s 25 most influential evangelicals. McLaren received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland. His interests include medieval drama, romantic poets, modern philosophical literature, and Walker Percy. He earned a Doctor of Divinity from Carey Theological Seminary in 2004. With professional experience ranging from teaching college-level English to founding Cedar Ridge Community Church, McLaren is recognized as a leader among mission-minded churches. He has written numerous books with his most recent, The Secret Message of Jesus, due for release in April 2006.
