Q & A with Michael...

How has APU transformed you?
APU's signature community has enabled me to be a more well rounded person. Before coming to APU, I had never met so many quality people who really wanted to invest in me without anything in return. The love I have felt from students, staff, and administrators has really left an imprint on my heart. It makes me want to give that same love to everyone who steps foot on this amazing campus.
Which activities at APU have you most enjoyed being a part of?
The APU One Voice Poetry Club was the highlight of my university experience. Not only was I able to develop myself as a speaker, writer, and poet, but I was able to listen to other people share their unique stories. I was able to build cross-cultural relationships in a way that I had never experienced.
What advice would you give to prospective students?
A man once told me, "The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your process." If you're reading this, it means that you must be intentional about making your experience here at APU amazing. Immerse yourself in activities that will pull you out of your comfort zone, immediately seek out positive associations, and build cross-cultural relationships with people who are different then you are. Don't take yourself too seriously either because everyone fails, you just have to know that failure is a part of your success.
How do you spend your free time?
I spend my free time reading, writing, speaking, exercising, growing, eating (my favorite), listening to other peoples' stories, talking to God, and spending time with amazing people.
