The Tutoring Center provides one-on-one peer tutoring support, and our Supplemental Instruction program provides students additional aid through weekly group study sessions facilitated by peer leaders. We strive to empower both our peer leaders and students to become confident, effective, and independent learners through the use of research-based learning strategies.
To safeguard the wellbeing of our current and prospective APU family, we are pleased to offer one-on-one and drop-in peer tutoring virtually through the fall semester. Schedule an appointment and learn more about the resources available to you on our Tutoring Center Site.

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a non-traditional form of tutoring that focuses on collaboration, group study, and interaction for assisting students in undertaking “traditionally difficult” courses that have a 20 to 30 percent rate of students that drop, withdraw, or fail. Students in SI engage in collaborative exercises and activities that reinforce the material they learned in their last class session, and are led through practices by a peer leader who has previously mastered the course.
