On March 17, alumni and friends of APU gathered to enjoy Dodgers baseball at the Camelback Ranch stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Some APU ticket holders were selected for a behind-the-scenes tour of Dodgers facilities, and bumped into Dodgers legend Manny Mota as he rode his three-wheeled bicycle through the grounds. The entire APU alumni group gathered for a unique photo opportunity with Dodgers official photographer Jon SooHoo and were escorted to an exclusive area by the Dodgers batting cages to await a mix-and-mingle session with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
Prior to Dave’s arrival, the alumni received an update on APU’s athletic department from APU head football coach Victor Santa Cruz and APU head baseball coach Paul Svagdis. Dave then arrived and spent time answering questions, signing autographs, and taking pictures with the participants. He proudly received an APU baseball jersey sporting his nickname, “Doc.” Before departing, the APU alumni and coaches gathered around Dave and laid hands on him while Santa Cruz led the group in prayer. Alumni then attended the baseball game, in which the Dodgers competed against the Milwaukee Brewers. APU alumni baseball hats were sponsored by Imagen Agency.
