Eyes on the Horizon

Inspiration. Opportunity. Hope. These are the feelings that the Kuyasa Kids instill in the people they reach.

From the Xhosa Tribe of Kayamandi, South Africa, the Kuyasa Kids are a children’s choir and dance team that travel the world giving performances and concerts to raise awareness and bring hope to the children and youth orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

On October 2, the Kuyasa Kids stopped at APU and hosted an art show featuring their work and that of other children from South Africa. Their exhibit gave them an opportunity to share both their hearts and creativity. Some of these students were taught by APU art student Jennifer Harlow during her missions trip South Africa last summer with Focus International.

The following day, the talented children's group gave the APU community a memorable performance in Munson Chapel that included a step routine, traditional African chants, and singing contemporary worship music.

The concert also included a time of giving, the proceeds of which benefited the ministry of the Kuyasa Kids.
