APU alumnus Bryan Clay '03 is in the final weeks of training on his journey to compete for the U.S. decathlon team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. With only days left before the Olympic Games, taking place August 8-24, AM 570 Radio KLAC welcomed Clay as a guest on the Loose Cannons show July 21 to find out what makes him arguably the best athlete on the planet.

A 2004 Olympic silver medalist and 2005 World Champion, Clay heads into the 2008 Beijing Olympics favored to win the gold medal for the decathlon. Having achieved a personal best, broken the previous U.S. Track and Field Olympic trials record, and gained the best score by and American in 16 years, Clay shows no signs of slowing down before the prestigious Games.

Clay credits APU for providing a strong, supportive environment that has continued to churn out a wealth of successful athletes. He continues to surround himself with that positive atmosphere with his two trainers, APU track and field coaches Kevin Reid and Mike Barnett.
