Azusa Pacific University hosted Impact 2012, a conference that brought 800 Southern California pastors to campus on October 11. Sponsored by KKLA, 99.5 FM, the conference featured lectures by influential church leaders and specialists including:

  • Rick Warren, D.Min., pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, and author of The Purpose Driven Life
  • Kenneth Ulmer, D.Min., Ph.D., pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church in Inglewood
  • Robert Jeffress, D.Min., pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, and host of the Christian radio show Pathway to Victory
  • Frank Pastore, Ph.D., host of The Frank Pastore Show on KKLA, 99.5 FM
  • Jeff Vines, pastor of Christ’s Church of the Valley in San Dimas
  • Steve Wilburn, pastor of Core Church in Los Angeles
  • Shawn Thornton, pastor of Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village
  • Scott Daniels, Ph.D., APU’s dean of the School of Theology and pastor of Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene

Attending pastors gleaned valuable insight on boosting the community impact of their churches and using new social media technologies to spur on ministry.

“Through our partnership with APU, Impact 2012 drew local pastors from diverse backgrounds and denominations together for a day of encouragement where they were inspired to make an even greater impact for the Kingdom,” said Richard Kennedy, director of ministry relations for KKLA.
