APU Introduces The Truck

by Abigail E. Peck

Azusa Pacific joins the food truck era with the introduction of a new mobile dining option. Students, faculty, and staff can experience this restaurant-on-wheels, featuring quality gourmet fare at a reasonable price. With its distinct red color, and the wafting smell of delicious food made-to-order, The Truck is sure to draw crowds.

The debut menu, determined by student polls and food truck trends research, features artisan options such as grass fed chicken and beef burgers, pulled pork sliders, korean beef and fish tacos, and garlic fries. Vegetarian items and signature desserts will be added at a later date. Unique to APU’s food truck is the flexibility of the menu, opening the door to future items such as paninis, quesadillas, hot wings, and hot dogs.

“With our food truck built for versatility, the menu can shift based on the most popular items and upcoming trends,” said Samuel Samman, University Services director.

The Truck’s convenience makes its services ideal for the community. With the goal to provide quality food options to both graduate and undergraduate students, The Truck will often park near Segerstrom on West Campus. As the location changes, students can track its whereabouts with the hashtag #trackthetruckapu on APU’s Dining Services Twitter account. The Truck takes all forms of payment, including dining points and Cougar Bucks.

APU's food truck promises to be a welcome addition at student life, athletic, and local community events. The Truck will also serve dinner to Citrus College students, parking on their campus, and be present at football games in the fall.
