Notes from the Field: Ecuador, May 9

by Debbie Rhon and Amber Vandenraadt

Editor's note: The following story was emailed to APU from the student mission team to Ecuador. This is the first story in a series.

We arrived to Ecuador late last night without any major problems. Amanda was sick prior to our flight but by the time we got on the plane she was feeling better. Joseph is fighting off a slight cold so please keep him in your prayers.

Today we went to the orphanage and had a great time with the kids. Tomorrow we will be taking them to the zoo and everyone is so excited (even the kids!). In the afternoon we went to the equator and everyone experienced two hemispheres at one time. Tonight is their first night staying with host families and they are all excited for that.

They are still adjusting to the fact that we are finally here. We keep hearing comments like, "Guys, we're in ECUADOR!" They all say, "Hi!" to you all back home. We'll write again in a few days. Blessings!

Team Ecuador is Jacqueline Canon, Kerry Clark, Season Hammalian, Debbie Rhon, Amber Vandenraadt, and Amanda Vaus.
