Lights, Camera, Action!
The Krikorian Theater in downtown Monrovia buzzed with excitement Tuesday, April 23, as actors, writers, directors, producers, cast, crew, friends, and fans gathered to witness the Azusa Pacific Student Film Premiere. Evidence of endless hours of creative exertion, the nine films ranged in genre from documentary to comedy to drama - even a little musical theater was represented.
“I feel like I’m one step closer to my dream,” said director Trina Merry ’02, as she waited to enter the theater. “I’m most nervous to see what others will think.” The laughter that filled the theater during her film, Caffeinated Confessions, made it clear that she had nothing to worry about.
“I was very impressed with the quality of all the films,” said Brianne Forbes ’02. “It’s very cool to watch people do what they love,” added Micah Souers ’02.
Beneath Conversations, Caffeinated Confessions, Clear Skies, Coma, 41st and Central, Perish the Thought, The Sacred Head, Smokin’ the Habit, and Track were released to the APU community at large on Thursday, April 25, during an open screening in the West Campus Theater at 8 p.m.
