Gig on the Green

Lollapazusa, the annual music event hosted by Communiversity, took place on Saturday, April 6. Even with gray skies and cool weather, people turned out to see the wide variety of bands play in a relaxed setting. The stage was set up on the west end of Adams Field and booths lined the sides for vendors and sponsors such as Team Barbados of Focus International and KAPU.

Music began at 12 p.m. with local band Any Ol’ Joe and continued for the next ten hours with music from PAX 217, The Normals, Derek Webb, Sandra McCracken, Slick Shoes, 4th Avenue Jones, and Original DP. The music styles varied from pop and acoustic rock, to alternative, hard rock, and hip hop.

A skateboard course sponsored by Exodus Board Shop was set up in the parking lot behind the stage giving skateboarders a chance to try their skills.

The cost of admission was reduced if accompanied by a donation of a non-perishable food item, blanket or toy. All donations were given to the St. Francis Catholic Church Pantry to aid in their ministry.
